Third time is a CHARM
At the 6 year old well check he goofed around during the exam, than 4 months later the school nurse sends a report home about poor vision.
Still not believing it.
Yes the results are true. The little man has some really poor vision is his right eye. He needs some pretty heavy strength prescription on that side. Of course do we carry vision insurance right now- well of course not.
It warmed my heart how happy he was to get his first glasses. One of his really good friends has glasses. He proudly stated that he would be the FIRST one is his class to have glasses. I have been wearing my glasses more to help promote the usage.
While in the first 18 hours of owning the glasses, they already have a scratch in them. The vision center said they have Kid Warranty that would replace the lenses. I think I will wait for a bigger, badder scratch around day 5.

He sure does look good in his glasses! He's got a great persepctive on it - makes him special!
So great! I remember when my little bro had to get glasses...the only ones he would wear were the ones with the big E.T. on the side, LOL!
Your son looks very handsome in those glasses!

What a wonderful attitude he has towards his new glasses. Boy have times changed. Whats even better is that you have been wearing yours more for him. What a good Mommy!
Absolutely adorable! I love that you both are wearing glasses...you guys are cute! Your 6 year old sounds like my 7 year old...they'd be busted in a few hours. Bummer about the insurance...I go to the dentist tomorrow for my cleaning...no dental insurance. Bummer!
so funny, I love the idea of waiting until day 5 for the really big scratch. I love your blog, I am so excited we met. We should be photog friends. Want to? Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving, Jamie
I know you know this, but your family is just stunning. Absolutely gorgeous.
You make me want to be one of you.
How awesome that he was so excited to get his glasses FIRST!! He looks so cute in them!
Wow, day 4 and already a scratch?? ;)
Our kids are predisposed to glasses, too, so it is just a matter of time. Both Brian and I got Lasik done so we can't be a good example like you. Kids are tough on those things!
ahhhh, the best of luck to you guys. I got my first pair of glasses when I was in third grade after my dad told me to look at how huge the leaves were on a tree and I said, "what leaves?" The whole thing looked like a green blob to me. I picked out a pair that had clear plastic frames (oh so ugly) because I thought then people wouldn't be able to see them. I'm okay with them now....and I'm in 31st grade!
Glasses are so much cooler than they used to be! At that age my glasses were larger than my face!
