Lost in a Book

Book

I was recently invited to join a Book Club. It has been really fun. I have not read in over 6 years. When I started riding the bus to work is when I really started to enjoy reading again. An hour ride each way helps to get a lot of reading done. It has been fun to lose my self within a book.

My mom can read a book in a day or two. I have not mastered that skill yet. Currently we are reading Free Food for Millionaires by Min Jin Lee. It is an easy light hearted book. Do you have any suggestions for our next book?

I have rediscovered reading in the last few months too, and I'm LOVING it! I used to read all the time, but after Nadia's birth it got put on the back burner. Now I'm on my 7th novel since the beginning of the year. Currently I'm reading Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult (love all her stuff).

I am a HUGE reader and I can read a book in a day if I am really into it. The series Twilight (haha I know, EVERYONE has read them) was the last series that I really read and I enjoyed it enough to read all 4 books in about 3 days...you should definitely read them, easy to read but very entertaining!

My mom was the same way. She would crank out a book in just a couple days. Her book collection was incredible.

I love love to read, but just don't have enough time to read as much as I would like to these days. Perhaps, once the tot is older, I'll have that time back.

Ha! I'm with Ashley...I *just* read the Twilight series...it took me 5 days. ;) LOL I was "pre-reading" before giving it to my daughter, and got sucked right in. I really don't have the time either, but my house took a back seat for a week. I considered it a mini-vacation for myself! lol

My VERY VERY VERY favorite series is Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Historical fiction/romance at it's best. The first time I read it I was working full time. I would rush off to bed at night, and read until I forced myself to put it down around 2am...I walked around like a zombie for days! *ha*
The story is quite raw in spots, so be forewarned, but it is "escapist" fiction at it's best. I would recommend you pre-read it before recommending it to your book club. It may offend some peoples' sensibilities. ;)

By the way, Ashley...are you aware that the first twelve chapters of a rough draft called "Midnight Sun" is available on the internet? It is Twilight from Edward's perspective...LOVED it! Apparently it got leaked, and the author had no choice but to copyright and release it. I hope she finishes it. Hated to be left hanging.
You can find it here if you're interested. :)

I love reading too. I am making my way through Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I can read a book in a day or two if I can actually sit down and read all day, but you know that's not going to happen!!

I love the photo.
